BAJA CALIFORNIA SUR, LA PAZ, LOS CABOS AND BEYOND.

BAJA CALIFORNIA SUR.

A destination of colorful contrasts, from the blues of the Sea of Cortez to the breathtaking sunsets on the dry desert.

Separated from the rest of Mexico by the Sea of Cortez (also called the Gulf of California), Baja California Sur hosts some of the Top tourist destinations in the World featuring the best resorts and attractions for the most demanding traveler.

Sport fishing

Baja California Sur has long been recognized as one of the top destinations in the world for big game fishing. There are hundreds of fishing vessels waiting to take you where the Sea of Cortés meets the Pacific, in a tumult of marlin and swordfish, Wahoo, Dorado and yellowtail, snapper, cabrilla, corvina and roosterfish. No other destination in the world can rival Cabo San Lucas for the number and variety of fish caught year round; most of these creatures of the deep are caught every year and then released to fight another day.

Cabo San Lucas is known as the "Marlin Capital of the World" and deservedly so, as there are more marlin caught here than any other place on earth.

Whale-Watching

Between January and March, stunning gray whales migrate from the Bering Strait to the Pacific coast of Baja. The main whale-watching spots are Laguna San Ignacio (on the Pacific, near San Ignacio), Bahía Magdalena (on the Pacific, near Puerto Lopez Mateos -- about a 2-hr. drive from La Paz).

Snorkeling with Baja's Sea Lions

Prime among the many treasures of Baja are the colonies of sea lions that live in the Sea of Cortez. (One of the most important colonies is in LOS ISLOTES).
